the small things: winter

I am not a winter person. I don't enjoy the cold, or winter sports, or playing with snow. The onset of winter makes me so miserable, I don't even allow myself the pleasure of enjoying autumn.

This dynamic was starting to get old and boring. I really needed to turn that frown upside-down so I decided to make a big effort this year and find several small things I didn't know I liked about winter. I have been taking photos of them and it has been a therapeutic experience.

I don't think I will ever be a winter person.I still dislike the cold, and gloomy days still take my energy away, but I have found inspiration in little winter things.

“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald

  1. At least you captured BEAUTIFUL photos of Winter? I am not a Winter person either... we tend to have buckets of rain and hardly any snow... but both get old after awhile, I have to agree. Way to try to turn Winter into a positive!! :)
